"Growing up grandpa would tell us stories about his time on the Pringle but it was so long ago and we were just kids that I’d forgotten a lot of it. All I know off the top of my head was that he was a signalman and got thrown from the ship when the plane hit. We have his service revolver and I have a framed drawing of the Pringle (and the Torrance which is the ship he was assigned to after the Pringle went down) with the medals and citations he earned in the service."
