, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2004. Born May 12, 1916 in
Lorain
,
Ohio
he was a son of the late Samuel and Revella Soloman Golston. Mr. Golston
was a proud Navy veteran of World War II attaining the rank of Second
Lieutenant. While serving in the Pacific Theatre he was awarded the
Purple Heart. He was a graduate of the Wharton School of Finance. While
in
Parkersburg
he owned the
Style
Center
and Golston Rambler. He served a President of the Parkersburg Retail
Merchants Association and was a member of the Parkersburg Masonic Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Evelyn Abady Golston.
Surviving are his sons, Rodger A. Golston and wife Patty, Tempe,
Arizona, Samuel A. Golston and wife Cindy, of Roanoke; daughter, Rozann
Golston Friedman and husband Bernard, of W. Bloomfield Hills, Michigan;
grandchildren, Maggie Golston, Tuscon, Arizona, Matthew Friedman and
wife Jodi, W. Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, Megan Strain and husband
Steve, Birmingham, Michigan, John Golston and wife Robin, Cary, N.C.,
Jeremy A. Golston and Kathleen Golston, both of Roanoke;
great-grandchildren, Jacob Golston, Ellie Friedman and Jenna Friedman.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the
