Harry spent 19 years, 6 months in the Navy and retired in August of 1956. 

When he retired, he was on the USS Helena CA-75, (off-site link) a Baltimore class heavy cruiser

  

Harry died May 10, 1983 after a third stroke. 
He lived the majority of his after Navy life in Puyallup, WA, except for a 6 year time 1961-1967 when he lived at Eielson AFB, Alaska and worked civil service.
